Christmas is here...already

If you enjoy Christmas treats, Germany is the place to be. The Christmas goodies showed up in the stores last week already, which is about the same time they arrive in the stores every year. To us, this seems terribly early, but obviously the Germans don't think the same way we do. This gives them lots of time to enjoy all those Christmas delights. And I have to admit, there are a few things our family enjoys as well.
Halloween is not really an event here, so that doesn't get in the way of getting all the great Christmas stuff out.
And Advent is huge, so we make wreaths and light candles and make sure our kids have a way to celebrate every day of advent.

The stores are not far behind here in the US. Christmas decorations, etc. are out to entice early purchases here, as they mentioned on the news even this morning.

Ironically, I was just at an Aldi store in a nearby town here in Minnesota yesterday and purchased some 'Stollen' already...just to be on the safe side. My parents used to send us one from Germany in the past, but now that we have Aldi's here, they don't need to! ;-) That's where I buy my German coffee, too.

You have Lebkuchen-sterne in flavors over there? Consider me tantalized.
