The kidnapping

A few weeks before Katy's birthday I received a phone call from her German teacher. She had decided that she needed to do something to help Katy celebrate her birthday since she was so terribly excited about turning 17. A plan was hatched. Katy would be "kidnapped" and put in her teacher's car and they would take her to one of the local restaurants. I would follow in our van with the rest of the class (it's a small class!).When Katy got out of the car at the restaurant I couldn't believe what they had on her head! It was a fabric beer keg complete with the tap!
They walked her through the parking lot and right into the restaurant which was packed to the rafters.
There were tables available outside so out we went and it was there that poor Katy was finally released! She was a great sport about it all.
This is the lady responsible for the whole adventure.
It was cold outside but we were good Germans and sat there and ate our meal. Katy didn't have a coat so I gave her mine.
Most of the kids ordered soup and hot chocolate to help keep them warm!

What a great surprise for her! And what a special teacher she has to have planned this crazy event!
