Katy's Poland trip

Katy is home from her amazing service trip to Poland. She had a FANTASTIC time and said today that she wished she were back there! The kids worked so hard and were such an encouragement to the people there.
I have "borrowed" these pictures from Katy and from Rachel so I say "thank you" to them!
This is the city centre of the city where Katy was working.Pulling nails. Her grandpa Dennis would have been proud of her.
Katy hard at work. This window cleaning process was indeed a process. But, she and her buddy Deborah stuck at it and they cleaned at least 20 windows.
Clearly, a big job!
The kids hauled out a mountain of dirt. The people there were hoping to get a corner of this basement cleaned out but the kids worked until the entire basement had been leveled.

Before and...
after.
A sobering trip to Auschwitz. "Work makes you free".

After this they got back on the bus for a 15 hour trip home. All but three of the students on this trip were home students, so once they arrived back in Kandern, there were still planes to catch to take them to their homes for the rest of the break.
