Raising the roof

The big project going on at BFA right now involves the dorm where we sub on Thursdays. They are adding a floor to the existing structure in order to "move" another dorm into this dorm. The rent in one of our dorms is prohibitive and it's time to try to cut some costs. Unfortunately, this restructuring also involves Howard as he works in the basement of this dorm and his office space will one day be converted into an apartment for the dorm parents!

One cannot build anything (not even a house) in Germany without a crane. It is the LAW.

This looks like Palmgarten, and the construction looks very sturdy in the rafters. There is a little Palmgarten in me as I stayed there in '96 (last century) with dear Harold Gustafson when it was the guest house. Nice view then from the 2nd floor, probably even better on the new floor. Looks like the payoff of building and consolidating is a sound plan.
