Snow day

Today was an official BFA no school snow day. This is a day which has become somewhat of a tradition at school. Our principal usually calls this day when there's lots of sickness and general low spirits and usually some degree of snowfall. Last night just as the snow started to fall the phone rang with the happy news. This was especially good news for Katy as she's still fighting the bug and would have had to miss yet another day of school. I think she'll be well enough to go back tomorrow but at a reduced pace!

This is our street. Our house is the one of the left with the red shutters. As you can see our street has a bit of an incline. When it snows people have a terrible time driving up our street. They spin and spin and often just back down to the street below and either try again or give up and use an alternate route. It's so strange that such a small hill causes such distress. It is the tires or the road or that they just don't really know how to drive on ice and snow? At any rate it's a puzzling thing...
